Position Overview 

Plays a vital role in the Finance Department by assisting the Controller in providing timely, accurate month and year end reporting. Prior inventory/job costing and ERP experience preferred by not required.

This position reports directly to the Controller.

 

Responsibilities 

  1. General Ledger & Month-End Close:
    • Perform daily accounting operations by recording transactions into ERP system including receipts, disbursements, journal entries and payroll.
    • Prepare monthly account analysis and bank reconciliations.
    • Review of variances between budgets and forecasts.
    • Monitor cash flow requirements including timing of vendor payables.
    • Review job profitability for accuracy and completeness.
    • Assist in inventory management and costing.
    • Prepare monthly sales tax filings and ensure tax reporting compliance.
    • Prepare annual 1099 filings.
  2. Business & Strategic Support:
    • Assist in the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
    • Support the Controller in preparing financial presentations for leadership, investors, or board meetings.
  3. Data Integrity & Process Improvement:
    • Ensure financial data accuracy and consistency in reporting.
    • Work with the Controller to improve financial systems, automation, and reporting efficiency.
    • Assist in implementing and maintaining financial planning tools and software.
  4. Special Projects:
    • Provide financial analysis to support business cases, scenario planning, and operational initiatives.
    • Assist in regulatory and compliance reporting as needed.
    • Support external audit and tax-related requirements in coordination with the Controller.

       

What You Bring 

  • 3-5 years in progressive accounting roles concentrating on transactional accuracy and account reconciliations.
    • Budgeting  
    • Knowledge of state and federal reporting requirements
    • Attention to detail and analytical insights
    • Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems and financial reporting tools
    • Ability to multi-task
